Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled and experienced Journeyman Electrician to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems in residential, commercial, and industrial settings. This role requires a deep understanding of electrical codes, safety standards, and hands-on experience with complex electrical tasks.
Key Responsibilities:
- Install, maintain, and repair electrical systems, including wiring, circuit breakers, and transformers.
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical diagrams to determine electrical requirements.
- Troubleshoot and diagnose electrical issues using appropriate tools and techniques.
- Ensure all electrical installations and repairs comply with local, state, and national electrical codes and safety regulations.
- Collaborate with other tradespeople and contractors to complete projects efficiently and on schedule.
- Supervise and mentor apprentices and less experienced electricians.
- Provide exceptional customer service and communicate clearly with clients regarding project details and status.
- Maintain accurate records of work performed and materials used.
Qualifications:
- Valid Journeyman Electrician license or equivalent certification.
- License must reciprocate to Alaska.
- Proven experience as a Journeyman Electrician or similar role.
- In-depth knowledge of electrical systems, codes, and safety practices.
- Proficiency in using electrical tools and diagnostic equipment.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Physical stamina and dexterity to handle the demands of the job.
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Completion of an apprenticeship program or equivalent training.
- 5 years of experience as a Journeyman Electrician.
